We've been BUSY!

So, I haven't been on in a long time, but I have excuses! We've been incredibly busy! We have moved houses, painted, decorated, had our first baby appointment (HEALTHY!), and I've been struggling with morning sickness and migraines.

We're loving being in the new house. We've finally done what we've wanted to here, with painting and actually getting our first piece of new
furniture (a couch!) that we've ever had in our five years of marriage.

We've inherited my sister's chickens, who are a hoot (I'll have to post pictures) and my New Years chicks are starting to get BIG. They all
have survived, though my only chick from another hatch did not. I was bummed-- she was a Delaware and I was looking forward to owning a Delaware...

On top of the chickens we have a new member of the family: Jade, the puddy
-
tat. She's about 3 months old, and is very vocal as she is 1/2 Bengal and 1/2 house-cat. We all love her and she's really good about the tough love Sunny gives her. She's a complete huntress, though, and the one time we let her in the backyard she was across the yard and had caught one of the chicks (thankfully unhurt) in about thirty seconds. So, she's under house arrest :). Of course, this means she hunts the rest of us-- she and Sunny rough-house quite a lot...

The pregnancy has been rough the last two weeks-- I've had 7 migraines since last monday and it's really wearing us all down. Like last time, I'm chronically thirsty and I have ended up having periods of time where I'm gasping to
catch my breath and I think I may have had too much water(???) I'm trying to balance out the water I drink with Performance and that seems to help with some nausea.

Drew's Guinea Pig had mites and it looked like we might lose him, but with Ivomectin treatments once a week we seem to have licked it and he's looking VERY healthy and handsome these days. He's an easy-going dude and completely lovable. He's by far the NICEST guinea pig I've ever met.

That's me with my preggy-face. Sunny took the picture. In fact, he probablyu took the one of Jade, too. The boys use the camera more than I do!

Appreciation

I have the best hubby in the world. Sometimes I do not appreciate him enough, but, with me being so sick, I have to admit that he's just WONDERFUL.

Yesterday I was feeling emotionally BAD-- I have a cold on top of my morning sickness, which mostly means that I gag everytime I sniff. The boys were being naughty-- Sunny was peeing on the floor (we're about to move!) and everything was just getting away from me. The house has been going down hill, because I don't have any energy...

And we're doing different health care this time because of changes at the women's center, where the only midwife left from the original group was the one who treated me horribly. It's not worth the 45 minute drive while in labor anymore, so we're going the medical route and I'm... relieved. Seriously. My whole family is passionate about natural labor, etc... and me, I just need to not be overwhelmed when the baby is born. Drew vs. Sunny. I don't know what I'll do yet-- I'm considering a water birth at this point, but its too soon to think about the birth, as we don't know if the baby is OK yet.

Anyway, because we're changing OB/GYN services, and because our insurance company are poodah-heads, it's a huge process to get referrals, and appointments, etc. Anyone who knows me knows I HATE talking on the phone. Bad enough with family, with a stranger I find it impossible.

So, sweet Hubby has done it all, to the point where he had his phone on one ear and our niece's on the other (while he was at work) so he could get the info for the new women's center. When questioned by the women there, he delicately explained about my phobia of being on the phone and took care of it all. He also handled getting my referral without so much as a headache for me (and it was challenging, my PCP did NOT want to give it, as I haven't been in since her partner DR. said I was a hypocondriac when I accidently took Unisom AND Tylenol PM together and ended up with half of my body numb for two weeks...)

I know that Hubby had no idea what he was getting into when he married me, though we knew each other longer than most couples do when we got married. It puts so much more stress and responsibility on his shoulders, with me not driving, and rarely talking on the phone. He never throws it up to me, though I can see when he's wishing that I were better about handling this.

Then he came home and cleaned the house.

See what I mean? He's awesome!

This morning...

Drew: Are you drinking LEMON juice?
M: Yeah
Drew: Why did you accidently put seeds in it?
M: I don't mind them

There are several things that don't mix with morning sickness:

1. A 2 year old who insists on being naked when he's freezing and throws tantrums.

2. Cooking. Pizza.

3. Having energy

4. Having contraband chicks in the spare room

5. Potty training toddlers who pee on the floor.

6. House-keeping

7. Food.

8. Breathing.

9. The trash only going out once a week...

10. Moving.

11. Having everything packed.

12. Chronic thirst vs. low electrolites

13. Need I say... FOOD?

14. Baby juice-breath

15. The Wii not working

16. Bathrooms

17. Messes

18. Cravings I can do nothing about... REAL refried beans... BIL's famous tortillas... soft boiled eggs with real butter... chevre... saladitos... mexican candy... Manda's calzones... Sweet potato fries...

19. ... I'd puke them up anyway...

20. A toddler who pretends to vomit into my bowl (Ok, that's pretty hilarious)

21. A MIL who says 'I NEVER let MY boys see me throw up' (not so funny)

22. Having most of my associates be women who have never had morning sickness (!) so they think I'm malingering...

23. Not being able to convince myself that this baby is ok

24. Feeling like my boys are paying for this pregnancy

25. Not being able to get warm... and I live in a DESERT

26. Still getting every cold/flu that passes through

27. Heaters. I. Hate. Them.

28. Switching care providers. Insurance companies. Drs. who call me a hypocondriac and then wonder why I haven't been in for over a year...

29. Mental-care providers who are ticked because I DIDN'T ASK PERMISSION to get pregnant.

30. Exhausted hubby and knowing I should be trying harder.

31. Blood sugar issues.

32. Everyone has advice, but none of it works...

33. Having to explain that I AM doing all the things I can for my morning sickness... they just don't help...

34. Knowing this is my last pregnancy and wishing I could enjoy it/be excited about it...
